Multiple Car Crash Fatalities in Louisville

By Kaufman and Stigger on

Freeways are often the scene of horrific crashes involving multiple vehicles. Because of the number of lanes and the volume of traffic on an interstate, the likelihood of more than two vehicles colliding is high. When this happens, there is an increased chance of serious injuries and even fatalities.

This isn’t just because there are more vehicles involved, but because there is an increased chance of multiple victims which can cause delays in getting help to each victim.

One Dead in Multiple-Vehicle Crash on I-265

Four passenger cars and two tractor-trailers were involved in a chain-reaction crash on I-265 near its junction with I-70. The Louisville Metro Police Department said that the accident happened around 2:30 pm on Friday, June 12, 2020, when one of the passenger vehicles struck another vehicle at a high rate of speed.

This set off a chain reaction that involved two semi-trucks and two other passenger cars. One driver died at the scene and another was taken to a local hospital suffering from serious injuries.

When someone is injured in a multi-vehicle crash, there is often a lot of confusion about how the accident started and who is to blame. In truth, it may be that several drivers have some part of the blame, but if you are unrepresented, it’s likely that most of the fault will be put on you.

Multi-Car Accident Injuries

Many of the multi-car crashes involve a rear-end crash as cars and trucks will pile into one another. This can cause the occupants of a car to essentially be in two accidents, one when they hit the car in front of them, and another when they are struck from behind.
