A traffic accident Munfordville involving multiple vehicles sent at least five people to the hospital on June 18, 2018. In total, eyewitnesses claim eight vehicles were involved in this crash.
According to ABC-13 WBKO, this accident took place around noon in the southbound lane of I-65 near the 66-mile marker. There’s currently a great deal of construction happening on the bridge by this marker. To accommodate construction crews, the road in this area changes from three lanes to one.
Allegedly, the driver of a semi-truck in a right lane didn’t properly yield to traffic and struck a Mitsubishi. Since this accident happened in a congested area, six other vehicles were affected by this initial crash. The other cars involved in this crash were as follows: a Nissan Altima, another semi-truck, a Jeep Wrangler, a Ford Ranger, a commercial vehicle, and a Dodge Ram.
The semi-truck that allegedly caused this crash fell into an embankment on the right shoulder. There’s no word on the semi-truck driver’s condition.
One driver involved in this crash was brought to the hospital for serious injuries. Three passengers and one additional driver in other vehicles were also brought to local hospitals with minor injuries.
